My Dodge Viper
Driving The Best Car
The Rolls Royce represents an incredible value for the amount of cash required to purchase an older model, which after 18 years shows no appreciable wear of any Rolls Royce parts.
The Silver Spur was designed in the true Rolls Royce tradition, and one only needs to slide into the driver's seat and close the door to know what I mean.
For less than the cost of many sub-compacts, one can experience the same ride and comfort enjoyed by the few who can afford the cost of a new Rolls Royce.
Whilst I appreciate that some future repair costs may await me down the road, I will savour the present with the knowledge that the car was originally built without any regard for cost cutting.
Inherited Car
I inherited this Reanault car from my mother, who had it for almost twenty years. It is beginning to show it's age, with a few problems with Renault parts, but considering it's age it is still going strong.
The cabin is very roomy, at least in the front, and the boot is huge. The car is also built like a tank, and feels very safe on the road, although there is some under-steering.
The interior is starting to look a little worn, particularly due to sun damage, although it is not too bad considering that it has spent most of it's life in the Australian sun.
The car has been very cheap to run, with very few problems and those that did occur were quite easily and cheaply fixed. Fuel consumption is also good, which is particularly important due to rising oil prices and my being a broke university student.
Although this is an old car it has been a great first car, being economical and simple to drive.
My Porsche 86
It costs me $82 a mile to drive my 1986 Porsche 911 with Porsche parts maintenance, gas, and insurance (my 96 Subaru Legacy costs me $11 a mile). However, it is worth it. There is no other car in the world that is as pleasurable to drive as my 86 Porsche.
The car is reliable in the sense that it has never broken down and left me stranded anywhere, however there is a lot of maintenance work required to keep the car running smoothly.
I'm Disappointed On This Bird
I have always dreamed of owning aFirebird. My first and second cars were both Camaro's, but I've always loved the look of the Firebird more than anything else.
Recently I decided it was time to part with my '95 Camaro since it was almost ready to turn 200,000 miles.
I knew I would be in major trouble if I bought a V8, so I set out in search of a nice V6 Firebird. I found this 2001 that really caught my eye. It was very stylish and sleek... I decided I had to have it.
Unfortunately since my purchase I've decided this car is all show and no go!!! It seems like my 3.4L V6 Camaro had more power than this 3.8L!!!
Overall I'm dissatisfied with the quality and dependability of this car. Everyday I get in the car and wonder what kind of new noise is going to develop. Now that my warranty has expired I'm very concerned of the costly repairs of Pontiac parts that might be getting ready to happen.
The Plymouth Colt My Mother Had
The 1.5 liter, 4 cylinder engine is very powerful for being so small. The gas mileage is excellent and I'll never have to worry about it leaving me stranded. The only time the car ever stalled was on our way from NY to Maryland. Everything died including the engine, indicator lights, radio, etc. We let it set for a minute and it started right back up and hasn't done it since. It's been a great car and I plan to keep it all through high school and college.
